Open Your Eyes

Some days are just different than others,

Some are bright and clear

But sometimes you release the pain,

And shed a tear

Lately, I've been talking to God more often,

Asking him how I fit into all this,

He took me on a journey both literally and mentally,

No company, no music, no distractions,

Not even a car, a person nor the sun,

But He told me, He said "Son,",

"You have meaning, you have purpose, My Child",

"But in order to become your truest and purest self, My Child",

"You must accept your responsibilites, you must lead, you must believe, My Child",

"That you, today, are no longer a child, My Child.",

This opened my eyes to the reality of my life,

I was a 20 year old college student in a new, huge state...alone,

With little money and no steady space to live

and 2 siblings and a family that was depeding on me at home,

As I walked alone in the rain,

I told myself, I HAVE to be great, I have no option

I will lead my guys to a greater space
