To Our Heir

Location

I watch the world with saddened eyes
What mother nature must think of us
This once beautiful blue planet
Now covered in trash and dust

We claim to protect our country
But, we destroy the land we use
So many lives have gone lately
And still we continue the abuse

Fevers and wars corrupt our society
Trash and smoke pollute our air
This world is dying slowly
This home we leave our heir

We worry of bankruptcy and oil
When our world is seeing death
The richness is leaving our soil
And yet we worry of this less

Without this planet we call home
Our problems can finally end
Because without this world of ours

There’s no place they can begin
