Our Only Reality
Location
It’s not about being seen, but about being heard;
Truthfully, I’ve shared my thoughts of the absurd.
I’ve wondered if I needed pre-calculus,
If I could seek out the Alchemist,
If Kanye needed such extravagance,
Why the republicans weren’t more magnanimous?
Throughout the stress and pain and ephemeral fame,
I've searched for where the truth lies,
Among this debauchery from which all exclaim:
I want to be a rapper, a singer, an actor just like you!
Throw a banger every night, and own a car,
In every shade of blue.
Someone once rapped that time is money, and money is time;
But when time runs out, what money is mine?
All of it’s gone, spent away at useless things,
That we bought for the sake of the ads we believed.
In the end we can take none of our possessions
That were our mortal obsessions.
Far away, when dusk and dawn meld into one,
That bright light will appear before your eyes
And wherever you believe it will lead,
It will be a place void of all worth,
Only a higher being could understand the commonality
Of the human soul we all share, our only reality.
