PACT

I must change

I do change

I will change

This was the promise

I unknowingly made

when I was born into this world of beautiful malice

My freedom to exist and demand

In exchange that I, without freedom,

impact or be impacted by those who walk this land

whether for bad or heavenly good

we all are susceptible to change,

even the hippie, surfer, or hipster dude

And oh the horror, oh the excitement

knowing that the next person I meet

will incite change, either disaster or enlightenment

I must change
