The Paradoxical Messages From the Media

Location

The media tells you to "be different" from everyone
else. But if everyone were to strife for distinction,
would there be not some commonality extant?
Magazines try to portray the quintessential and
unrealistic physique of an individual. However, with
a potent influence on social views, would it not
conduce many into replicating the seemingly perfect
life these luminaries possess? I occasionally ponder
what would be of the world if individuals were to
duplicate themselves as others who are inwardly
vain; facsimiles of individuals who are apparently
mirthful, yet live incarcerated with grief and
egotistical sentiments. These peoples, in spite of
their popularity, are emotionless and have attained
unfavorable qualities. The media claims that one
should "be different" ...but how can that be
accomplished if the media itself promotes what a
perfect person looks like?
