Parent

Thu, 07/14/2016 - 01:32 -- m.r.c.

Help the children hide.
Keep them locked away
With mirrors and makeup
Keep their minds in play.

Help the children run.
Work their bodies till the end
Upon miles and miles of road.
Push them and they'll finally bend.

Help the children cry.
Don't wipe their tears
With dirty rags and fingers.
Feed the wicked through their ears.

Help the children jump.
Now it's your turn to cry
With the label of "parent"
Ripped from you as they fly.
