Past

Mon, 02/10/2014 - 23:31 -- Kaelyn

Hold me tight,
   don't let me fall
The sky is still light,
   the lark hasn't called
Until then don't let go,
   stay for this last hour
Stay until the candle is low,
   before you leave my tower.

Squeeze me tight,
   before I fall
We're on stolen time,
so don't let me stay alone
Lay by my side, just 'til prime,
with a light smile, a warm tone
We've just today, this last hour,
But no! the candle is growing dim.

Snuggle tight,
   I'm about to fall
Can't be without you,
can't bear to wait so long
But I promise to be true,
To wait until fallen leaves, spring song
To wait until winter winds, the burning sun
to wait forever until need be
... My love, the hour's past.
