Dear Darian,

I’m stuck in a game of tag

I thought it would be fun

The closer he gets, the faster I run

My body is drained,

but I continue

I can’t be ‘It’

or else the game will end.

I want it to end

and he probably does too,

but I continue

I know he is still there even when I get ahead

waiting for me

so he can sneak up on me

I fear he’ll consume me whole

but I continue

It would have been easier if I never played.

I can’t run anymore.

I feel so sore.

I want to give up.

I can’t continue.

But I will not be tagged!

Not by him

because I made him.

I made him play this game,

so should I continue?

Your friend,

Isabelle
