The Perfect Sleep

Location

Wrap your arms around me,

Squeeze me oh so tight.

Make me feel safe.

Even when it’s not.

Never knowing right from wrong,

Silly jokes told on midnight strolls.

This is true love told.

Seeing your smile first thing,

Watching your eyes open, close;

Just barley awake.

This may not be everyone’s idea of perfect,

And things may not be right in the world;

But to me,

Lying here;

Wrapped up tight in your arms

Drifting off to sleep;

This is about as close as it gets.
