Perspective Lenses

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The one whose eyes fall upon your body and meet your gaze,

To retrace every crevice of your soul and see every flaw you find on yourself within your eyes.

Suddenly your insecurity is obvious and you break eye contact hoping they don’t notice all you see when you look at yourself.

Despite the fact that you are a masterpice carefully, thoughtfully and  purposefully sculpted by a god who loves you unconditionally.

You contine you allow yourself to be defined by the pants that hang around your waist, the size of the bra that hides beneath your shirt, or the makeup that covers up the beauty you pretend not to know is there.

Not taking a moment to realize that the looks you so often get arent out of the disgust you expect them to be but the looks of admiration.

If only youd let them be.

If only you saw them as looks of adoration instead of the tourmenting relentless looks you are so accustomed to believeing they are.

Because little do you know you are flawless.

With every mistake, misplaced hair, and oversized expectation the world has set you towards.

I can only hope that one day you find the beauty in yourself that is already found in the eye of the beholder.
