Phoenix

I was the magnificent

confident and swift

strong and untouchable,

Yet it was only in my mind.

I flew,

I conquered and dominated

every single challenge that

dared to stand in my way;

Yet I did not know

every single challenge took its toll

they singed at each wing,

until I was only ash.

I found myself in darkness

and I could no longer feel the magnificence,

I was unsure and lethargic.

In this stretch of smallness,

I felt myself grow everyday,

taking all that I've been through

into my thought,

feeling the life return to me

until I was renewed.

I found myself,

again.

I had only died down by difficulty,

to be rerborn into something

far more greater than I was.
