Physical Love

I know that according to Newton’s universal law of gravitation, any two bodies in the universe attract each other with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.

I know that according to the pull of my eyes toward you and the tugging on the corners of my cheeks, I am attracted to the way your body stands proportional to the way my eyes lay upon you, and the way my heart wishes the distance between us was inversely proportional to an undefined number.

I know that according to Newton’s first law of motion, every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it.

I know that according to the way I smile after you walk away, my uniform state of mind remained unmoved until you showed up and made me realize that there are other kinds of love- the kind that inertia can’t lay a finger on.

I know that according to Newton’s second law of motion, force equals mass times acceleration.

I know that according to the way I always know it’s you when you walk by my side, there is a certain kind of force in this world that causes my heart beat to accelerate at a massive extent when you raise your eyebrows at me and smile as if you’re trying not to laugh, but you fail anyways.

I know that according to Newton’s third law of motion, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

I know that according to the way I talk to you the same way I talk to myself in the mirror, I love you as my equal even though our personalities are completely opposite of one another.

I know that opposites are supposed to attract. I know that every time I see you, I want to talk to you. I know that every time I talk to you, I’m afraid I’ll say something stupid. You’re the reason my face heats up, because energy is conserved, and the internal energy of a system changes as heat flows in or out of it. I have so much energy when I see you, because there is this hot passion inside me that I want you to understand. I want to transfer my excitement and heat energy to your mind and make you understand that because of you, I am not what I used to be because entropy exists. My thoughts are so scattered when I think of you, but equilibrium always approaches zero as the temperature approaches zero, and my thoughts, they always somehow lead back to you, because you are not just a physical being. You are a mind, a soul, a heart. You break the laws of physics, and I break my own laws of love when I find myself universally attracted to you.

According to the beatings of my heart, the tingling of my skin, the crescent curve of my lips, and the flexing of my fingers, I know this.
