Piece of Paper and Pen

Allow me to take the time out to introduce you to
This piece of paper and pen
See, we go way back
When there was nothing,
But respect for your elders
And actually holding a conversation.
But you see
This generation ain't never met this
Piece of paper and pen
We lead this world into
Cries and devastation
We sent this nation far away from heaven.
We can't blame the children
Our society is ruin
Because the parents of today
Never formally acquainted the misguided to
This piece of paper and pen
There was never any texting for breakfast
Or sexting in the evening
Because we were focused on
This piece of paper and pen
If only this civilization was aware of the power that lies within.
The ability of concentration,
Unfolded thoughts spoken,
A chance to be notice
A sense of feeling unbroken.
Though, I would like to say,
Its never too late.
But sadly
Our future has already been deeply buried
With lost minds
My brothers and sisters never knew they had a friend in this...
My brothers and sisters didnt know their lives depend on this...
That their journey begins with this...
This piece of paper and pen.

This poem is about:
Me
My family
My community
My country
Our world
