Piecing Me Together

One’s shadow is their own darkest enemy,
We all have something to prove,
The paths of life are the most treacherous ones there are,
Time is like water.

The waves call my name,
The tide chants to my soul.
They lure every inch of me;
I can hear the voices of the sea.

I am the product of a disease that lives to seize.
Today slowly turns into yesterday,
And tomorrow seems all too far away.
But darkness has its limits and the light will always win.

I look around and can see the wonders of this world.
I can love with a little more hope,
And I can live with a little more peace,
Because now I understand how precious life can be.
