Please Don't Love Me

You don't love me.

You could have,

but now you won't.

Why am I sure?

I'm not.

not in the slightest,

I just feel it.

It's happened so many times

before. That it

doesn't work. I hope . . .

I pray . . .

I plead with God . . .

to know what He's thinking.

What's happening,

I'm so blind,

I follow the track

with you as conductor,

The train derails.

I realize

neither of us

has a goddamn clue

We can only know

You don't love me.

You could have loved me,

as much or more as I loved you
