The Plight

Burning bridges

Cigarette light

Charcoal ashes

Acid rain

Do you watch as the world burns?
Would you dare not care of the void that litters this earth?

Of the happening that surrounds this world,

Of the history that breeds in our very soul,

The bridges of old age burning down,

The cigarette lights that burn brighter than the night,

The charcoal ashes falling that become just that,

Like acid rain burning embers in the sky,

Forgotten, forgone, forever no more,

No matter the pain, the suffering, the sins,

The betrayal, the cries, the death,

For there will remain those who say,

“Not my concern today”.
