I have been told

Poetry is metaphor,

So you should probably use more of them.

So instead of stating blatantly what I feel,

I should use my knowledge of language to cover up

The ugly, or not so wonderful parts.

But there are some things that you just can’t cover up.

Like a bruise, you can only use so much makeup before

Your skin begins to look fake.

You can only use so many metaphors

Until the person you loved becomes

Just another sad love poem.
