Poetry

Little girl without a dream,

Not that good at anything;

The only people that she knew,

Were the writers at her school.

They taught the girl how to breathe,

Under the pressures of being a teen.

She started writing what she felt.

Everyday, she had more to tell,

To her new friends who would hear her out,

Praise her writing and relinquish her doubts.

Short stories, poems, she wrote it all.

There was nothing stopping her from this call.

Every word on paper made her heart soar.

She would go on to write forevermore.

Growing girl with a new dream,

She wanted to always be writing,

Inspired by the author’s society,

And their blessed gift of poetry.

This poem is about:
Me
