Poetry, My old friend

Dear Poetry, my old friend

Here is a little story of how we began

When times were tough, I was too

Because I began to write you

I put my pen to that paper and poured it out

My feelings, my thoughts, instead of a shout

You kept me sane, putting my thoughts into words

And putting those on paper, helped me to be heard

To be able to write you whenever I am stressed

Is not only a gift, you could call me blessed

Oh dear poetry, what a friend you are

Having you in my life has gotten me far

This poem is about:
Me
