Poteryannaya Printsessa v dekabre (Lost Princess in December)

Anastasia is an unofficial disney princess but nevertheless, she is my favorite one. The story revolves around her travels with a young man she doesn't realize she met before, in search of finding her family. The only thing is she is being hunted by an evil wizard that has a vendetta against her family and that family happens to be the royal family of Russia. Unaware that she is a princess and of the dangers that slowly trail behind her, Anastasia only wants to find one thing: her home.

My poem is based on the scene where Anastasia is unable to keep hold of her grandmother's hand as they are escaping Russia because their palace has been overtaken and as a result, she is left behind only to wake up to sever memory loss- forgetting that she is a princess in the first place. But what if she never forgot.

My people are running in fear

Unable to hear

My commands, my pleads, my wishes

They don't realize their princess is in a terrible position

“There! The young duchess!” they said

The intruders that raided my palace fetched the sympathy flowers

As they prepared my death bed

Im frozen, i cant move and it's not because of the snow

It's because my family didn't reap what they sow

I think of the warmness of my grandmother's hand,

The smell of her peppermint oil suddenly takes command

I'm up on my feet running,

Feet barely touching the ground

I need to get to a place,

A place where i'm safe and sound

The ferry

I have to leave, i can stay here

But what i will always hold dear

Are the dancing bears and the painted wings

Things i'll always remember

Soon i'll be home with glee

In once upon a December
