The Power to Be

Everyone is prayin', looking to the heavens.

Looking for a change to save them.

Me? I don't wish for things--I make them happen.

If I had the power, I'd make them see

See the potential within us all

the ability to break free--

free from all this waiting,

this helpless wishing.

If I had the power, I'd make them see,

see that we can stop wishing for a hero

and just be our own hero.

See that just maybe we can be the difference

and not just be.

If I had the power, I'd make them see,

see that we are human.

That means we are mighty, we are great.

We are capable of much the same.

if insecurity was changed to surety

if wishing was turned into action

If I had the power, I'd make them see

That instead of watching an injustice happen,

we could stand up and voice our disatisfaction.

One bold man can make a difference

Billions of bold humans can make a change.

If only I had the power, I'd set us all free
