The Power Of A Poem

Location

There has been so many nights,Where reading has saved my life.Saved me from the dark, consuming, deep pits of depression.Who would have known Maya Angelou, Lucille Clifton and  Langston Hughes could have taught me so many life lessons.           " Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's sizeBut when I start to tell them,They think I'm telling lies."Oh what a "phenomenal woman" Mrs. Angelou told me I was ,so I decided I would no longer cry.        " these hips are big hips.they need space to move around in.they don't fit into littlepetty places. these hipsare free hips.they don't like to be held back."I would forever love Ms. Clifton for telling me to send "Homage to my hips" and to love myself for what I didn't lack.        "Stop laughin', stop lovin', stop livin'--But I don't care!I'm still here! "Mr. Hughes Mr. Hughes thank you, oh so much dear        You see, There has been so many nights,Where reading has saved my life.Saved me from the dark, consuming, deep pits of depression.Who would have known Maya Angelou, Lucille Clifton and  Langston Hughes could have taught me so many life lessons
