The Power of Positivity

What do I do on a rainy day

When the storm clouds won't seem to go away?

What is it I do to put a smile on my face?

I take a step back, I slow down the pace.

I forget about all of the stress and plans,

I grab my keys and hop in the van,

I drive to the local Starbucks and think,

Next I order my favorite drink,

I drive home with my music loud,

I sing along with the windows down,

I let the breeze flow through my hair,

Strangers look but I don't care,

My mind urges me to get on task,

But I know deep down I need to relax,

I grab a blanket and lay down in my bed,

Instantly daydreams swirl in my head,

I think about things that I find amazing,

Beaches, friends, God, and stargazing,

I count my blessings and phone a friend,

Now I wish this day would not end!

It is truly amazing what attitude adjustments can do,

By thinking positively I completely change my mood,

Even the gloomiest days can be joyful and sweet,

If I seek God first, my needs he will meet,

Life is hard, but I must keep the faith,

My God he works in mysterious ways,

I take some time each day to enjoy the little things,

A bad day can be made great when I count my blessings,

So now I turn the focus off of myself,

And recognize that other people need help,

I say my prayers and shut my eyes,

Hoping tomorrow I can bless someone else's life.
