A prayer of hope

I've never seen you

But I guess that doesn't mean you're not there

It's just that people don't really have a clue

I mean about you

They use you to scare

They say they preach your name

You said I was pearl

They say I am shame

You see they claim that I am to blame for the world's pain

Just because I love another girl

I thought you were benevolent

But they tell me I must burn

My love -As long as I love- shouldn't even be relevant

Their hate is so prevalent

and that is why I am the evil of their concern

And Yes! I'm Queer!

But that doesn't mean I can't still spread your word

I long to come near

but they are trying to make me disappear

Talking to you feels so absurd

Aren't we supposed to love everyone

Please tell me that is what you believe

I don't want to run anymore I want to live under your sun

Please don't let us be shunned

Please just talk to me because I am not naive

If you're there and care for us rejects

We just want you to know that we're here and we're not a facade

I think you'll find that we aren't ones to reject

And we don't mean to cause disrespect

I thought we all were the children of God

Amen
