Pretty Face

Location

I am angry. Fuck what you've heard.

I don't get half the recognition I deserve.

There's a blazing fire in my heart.

It's been burning there from the very start.

You confuse my demeanor for weakness

But I've wisely chosen to speak less.

Silence was my strategy

Watching, waiting, patiently.

My time is now; I'm ready to fight

To condemn what is wrong and defend what is right.

Guess I just don't know my place

and I'm willing to say it to your face.

I cannot fit inside a box,

In a separate sphere that I'm to be locked.

My body, mind, and spirit are big and strong

Only to me do they belong.

I will not let anyone dictate me.

It's my human right to be free.

The female half of the human race

Is so much more than a pretty face.
