Rain Shine - A Letter to Her

I walk down rock stairs

Alongside incessant water drops

My mind races for answers—Why?

But just the same finds calm

For through the mist of afternoon rain

The sun…sets

And a strange feeling pervades me

Why should these two different wonders come together?

—The rain weakens and wakes me

Why should they not?

For great things are made through common effort

And perhaps Mother is giving us comfort

If all brothers and sisters bore the same Crest

Maybe She might still show us Her best
