The Rain You Now Know Of

Location

I have lived a life of stress and hurt

I have been harassed and treated like dirt

I do have some friends, yes, I do

But I have a lot more enemies too

These are things you hadn't known

I have been through quite a lot

It's as if my life is part of Fate's evil plot

I have been mistreated, abused

And have often been misused

These are things you hadn't known

But through all of this, the things you didn't know

I tried to make my efforts in your class show

I tried harder and harder and harder each day

But yet you still treated me the same way

These are things you hadn't known

You treated me as if I were only a kid

As if it was something wrong that I did

You added on to the hurt I already felt

It was just more pain that you dealt

These are things you hadn't known

I just want you to know that you could have made my day

By just being nice in the simplest way

All you had to do was treat me with kindness and respect

Things like "How has your day been" would have had a lasting effect

These are things you now know

Anything, anything at all could have helped

Your silence hurt more than being beaten by a belt

You could have ended just some of the pain

But all I felt was more dark clouds and rain

These are things you know
