Reality

Pounds of steel weigh heavy with each disappointment

It seems so hard to pick up and keep going in this reality

Sun rises and falls leaving the sky lonely and wounded

Sorrows bead like rain collecting on glass leaving lines to only be filled once more

There, a spark of joy echoes when I hear the voices

They are there for me, for themselves, for an escape

Reality tugs us here and there yet time pauses to take me to this new reality

The passage to the house where many delicious smells fill our senses

A new reality of joy, serenity, togetherness reveals as a smile

I smile back

No matter how far, no matter what we do, we escape that old reality

Eliminating bad guys with digital daggers and guns made of millions of pixels

Exploring the carefree world of aisles while bellies are stuffed with colossal burritos

A plunge into this reality that’s what we do like Alice in her Wonderland

And when I return to the old reality I can start afresh

I am healed

I am happy

To the friends who whisk me into our peculiar reality.
