Recognition

Location

To be recognized
One must have something to be recognized for
And I,
Well, I have nothing
I have the world to walk upon
But it is not mine
I have water that rolls
in silvery beads along my back
But even that returns to the Earth
I have all the love in the world
And yet no one to give it to
I have beauty
Look at me!
Look at my beauty
But even that fades
In a rash decision
I give over to you the only other thing I have
my voice
this pen and paper
these endless words
they are mine
they are
truth
stark truth
wrought from a soul - mine
I cannot promise they are enough
but for someone who has nothing (nothing)
this is everything (everything)
Do you recognize that?
