Red and White are Only Colors

Location

The coffee creamer of society

I am what others believe

It is tough not knowing your nationality

For it is based on the individual and what they perceive

Natives see the refined, marble white

Whites see the crimson, blood red

Growing up I was never sure of what I was

And it will most likely stay that way until I am dead

The mystery kept it interesting and made me different, so unique

Personality is not based on colors or preferences, contrary to what many may think

My style and interests are my very own

Never mainstream

Never a follower

I do what I want

No one’s opinion truly matters

Never ashamed

Always true

My circle is color-blind

Why is it that every other can’t be too?

What is race, what is sexuality, what is religion?

What is liberal, what is conservative?

What is different?

I am just a 16-year-old boy with my own sociological outlook

Spending hours everyday in school with various backgrounds

Jock,

Emo,

Pothead,

Band-Geek,

Yet what truly matters cannot be taught from even the top college professor

Tolerance, love and the golden rule

Christian,

Atheist,

Muslim,

Jewish,

Hindu,

Being kind to others and accepting who you truly are

Your name and integrity is what you can never lose

Gay,

Straight,

Bi-sexual,

Transgender,

So that is why I always am myself, always unique, always true

Not white, not red, just doing what I want to do

I love others, and myself just as everyone else should too.
