Remember me

Recall the past and think of me as dear,
Your heart will crack but life will still drag on;
Remember me as I depart from here.

My days were once so radiant and clear,
But now I doubt I’ll see the light of dawn.
Recall the past and think of me as dear.

Where I am ashen, ardor once did sear
Like raging flames for you to call upon;
Remember me as I depart from here.

Now there is no one left to shed a tear
For barren souls, the tides of life withdrawn.
Recall the past and think of me as dear.

Before the day, the night must first appear—
Ascension marks the final denouement;
Remember me as I depart from here.

And there’s no lie; serenity is near—
My wings unfurl, and I will soon be gone.
Recall the past and think of me as dear;
Remember me as I depart from here.
