Remember Me

My God is who I'm thankful for
For giving me breath is what I'm thankful for
Food on my table is what I'm thankful for
For giving me life is what I'm thankful for
Time is something that I'm thankful for
To change this world is what I'm thankful for
No more killing and dying is what I'll be thankful for
Love in our hearts is what we shall be thankful for
No mor people in these streets is what I'll be thankful for
No more false incarceration is what we shall be thankful for
Living as one is what I'm thankful for
People to remember me is what I'm thankful for
No more African Americans dying at the hands of police
Is what I want to be thankful for
I want you all to remember me
To my fallen soldiers I want my name to ring
For a stop to this brutality is what I'm thankful for
Living life in harmony is what I'm thankful for
Not being counted out for the color of my skin
Is what I'm thankful for
My family is what I'm thankful for
The gift of hope is what I'm thankful for
Today I know what I'm thankful for
I want you all to remember me
