"Rememeber Who You Are".

The first and last words out of my family's mouths before heading to college.

Four words I shurgged off,

felt as if they were unimportant.

Now I sit here and ponder them.

Who am I?

Where do I come from?

Am I the Native American from Santo Domingo Pueblo?

The gay teen who doubts his religion?

The overwieght teen who it seems can't lose weight?

Well simply,

the answer is all of the above.

I am a Native American.

I am a gay teen who doubts his religion.

The teen who can't seem to lose weight.

However, that's not just me.

I am not just some "downer" who complains,

I like to be proactive.

I like to play sports,

build, and love.

I know who I am,

I am me.

Nothing can change me.

I may not be accepted everywhere I go,

but hey, I don't need everyone's acceptance.

I only need it from the ones who love me the most.

My mom, my sister, my brother,

and my friends.

I may not be perfect,

and I doubt anyone is,

but I know who I am.

And although on somedays I doubt my religion,

I know, deep down, it will be with me till the day I die.

"Remember Who You Are".

I believe I know who I am,

and I'm damn proud of it.
