Respect

Location

You learn it.
You earn it.
You give it.

Or that's the way life is supposed to go, anyway.

Take a look around this classroom.
Do you see it?
I sure as hell don't.

I thought teachers were supposed to be caretakers.

This one isn't.
"You respect me, I'll respect you."
Or so you say. My respect doesn't stop you from laughing at me, just like the kids.

You'd think students in high school would understand it by now.

Ask the kid drawing on the desk,
or the one spewing profanities to anyone who gets in his way like it's his job
Do they know respect?

The answer is no.
