Revolution

How confident I could be,

What I could be,

I did not know

At first.

My future seemed so far,

The present so comfortable.

Growing up was the plan,

But not entirely reality.

I was determined.

I thought I could do anything;

Be anything.

Times seemed modern,

Hopeful,

On the cusp of revolution.

Now that revolution has come.

I realize it will be hard.

I will be disrespected.

I will be victimized.

I will get deferred.

I will struggle.

But just because it's hard,

doesn't mean it's not worth it.

The harder it is to earn,

The more victorious success will be.

My future is still not exact,

But I am not worried.

No matter where I end up,

I can thrive.

I can thrive in any revolution.
