“It doesn't matter,” she tried then laughs it off

As if it doesn’t matter

It could be different, but still, it wouldn’t matter to her if it did or didn’t in my eyes

Cause where’s the relevance to her?

Where’s the meaning, the significance?

So what would be the fucking difference?

Someone help me see the point in money because

It doesn’t mean a thing and it will never mean a thing

It couldn’t mean a thing and it would never mean a thing when I’m with her

It’s useless, so senseless

While she’s so utterly repentless

Why bother with those bills when they don’t make me happy like she does?

What’s the point in material frills when they don’t make me smile like she does?

I’d let her spend countless seconds, minutes, hours or days

If she’d promise to me that’s the only price she pays

I’ll accept her weeks with eager elation and the years with twice as much,

I’d gladly pocket the minutes, and I’ll beg for just her touch

Does she know that it doesn’t mean a thing and it will never mean a thing

It couldn’t mean a thing and it would never mean a thing when I’m with her

I’m clueless, and I don’t know what to do
I’m helpless without you

So why bother with the money, what can it buy that’s worth half as much as her?

Why waste the money when it can’t make me laugh as much as her?

Despite the uneasy response,

She “needs” for me to listen

She pulls me closer, grabs me tighter thinking she can assure me with a kiss and

She’s tempting me with empty talk of a better time,

She thinks it’s different cause now she is mine

She doesn’t understand I mean it

It doesn’t mean a thing and it will never mean a thing

It couldn’t mean a thing and it would never mean a thing when I’m with her

The situation it’s dense, I can’t put together why

When all I really want are the minutes consisting of her time

Impervious to my humble attempts, she pushes my pleading aside

Cause it’s nothing to her, I get that I do

I just can’t see relevance in money, when it won’t buy me you

The only spending should be with your time,

Cause I wouldn’t even accept a dime

Cause money to me will never mean a thing, at least not when I’m with you

What’s the point if it’s not with you?

I guess those stupid clichés are true, cause the only point I can see is you
