Scars

Sometimes

I wish I had scars to adorn my skin

The adventures

The lessons

The journeys

They must have walked through

To earn the scars they have

My skin is pure

Without mar

Without blemish

What stories could I tell

With a blank canvas on my body

However

I’ve learned that

Most people I know

Don’t bear their scars on their skin

But

Instead

Wear them on their heart
