Schedule 1681:New York to Philadelphia

Thu, 08/15/2013 - 02:22 -- Chebrya

He’s from Phili, wantin’ to leave his folks and get away

‒white boy, real friendly.

She’s alone walkin’ to the ladies room wearin’ short brown dreads

and an opaque rainbow striped vest in New York city at 3:15 in the morning.

He’s asleep on the floor, right side of the bus boarding line.

But we aint all so different you know. I’m going home, we’re going home.

He’s from Haiti and he’s goin’ home se we aint all so different.

They got eyes like birds turning their necks like owls at me ,

wonderin why I’m writin like crazy

wonderin what I’m starin at; but we aint so different you know.

We’re goin home, I’m headed home.

She’s from Denmark and he’s

Chinese livin in Boston’s china town.

I’m from Ohio but we aint all so different you know.

He’s studyin Chemistry, been workin those molecular formulas the whole ride.

She’s goin home to Vermont and I just left there.

When we stop the ladies room is full and

everyone eating knows to open their mouths to food;

we aint so different, we aint that different.© Cjeffrey,2013
