Search me

Psalm 139 For the choir director: A psalm of David.

O Lord, you have examined my heart
    and know everything about me.

The “old” human heart

What is the human heart … did it survive the “Fall”?

Where is the substance love … when you’re a cannibal?

What is “love one another” … as for survival you fight

And by instinct you blow away … the ones on the other side?

“Peace on earth, goodwill to man” … is that only for the few?

Who’ll find the path the Savior trod … and are not hiding in a pew?

Why do we need a new heart … the true gift of God’s love?

As we accept His Son … and are transformed from above?

After the” Fall” there was little … that was worth the keeping

Possibly the only purpose … in God’s call or the reaping

From Cain to Abel … up towards the folks of today

The need to search for answers … or just waste away
