Secrets I Keep

written 08/07/16

The secrets we keep

Just words between us,

We carefully speak

Perfectly hushed.

But now I have questions

And we are never alone,

So I speak nothing

And lay silent at home.

But the secrets I keep

There are more than you know,

Many I will keep on my own.

I'll spill each word when I am good and ready,

It may not be to you if I say any.

These secrets are mine to keep,

Also mine to share

If that is what my fragile heart can bare.

For now I'll stay silent,

Our secrets will be safe.

My own secrets will be kept away.

We'll speak quietly,

A gentle hush,

We'll share our secrets with no rush.
