Seeing Is Believing

In some places, scars are

The most goregous, glimmering things you've ever seen.

Intricate designs telling of forgotten pains

And forged of blood.

They speak to the strength of their owner.

Yet, I harbor a secret fear in my heart.

My scars are hidden.

I strive for untinted eyes and whole breaths.

Don't touch me, friend, just

Stay awhile, blind to what you see.
