Sending Off

Not so little soldier boy
Off to do what's right
Thirteen weeks to make or break
He then goes on to fight

A good friend he is to me
I know I'll miss him here
His noble heart will get him far
There's nothing there to fear

Gone so long I wonder if
He'll ever think of me
When times get rough
and he grows tough
A hardened man he'll be.
