A shadow is all I'll ever be.
Sitting here in the cold silence of the ally.
No sun will shine on me.
No one will look my way.
Till that young girl held out her hand and asked if I was cold.
She became my friend till she too was taken from me.
Nothing changes everyone leaves...
One day the young girl now old and frail came back to see me lying in the same spot I was in before.
She held out her hand and told me to come.
Now I sit in a warm home thanks to that young girl saving me from the shadows.
