Shattered Stars and Stripes

Yes I can see

From the glow of my computer light

That I cannot be proud of

Our stars and stripes.

We stand on the shore and ignore

The helpless cries of our fellow man,

President Trump speaking vauntingly of our successes

But does he even know what success means to us?

He's boasting about his "improvements"

While he neglects the starving and colored

The poor and uneducated

The immigrants and refugees

The gay and trans

The disabled and dying.

We're still fighting the battle to be freemen,

And I'm never sure where I stand.

So tell me Mr. Tump,

How can we make America great again?
