She Has My Back

As an imaginative daughter long ago

I dreamed that I may be a mother in time

Cradling my baby dolls with care

I knew I still had time to mature

Carefully watching my mother

I learned just what it took to nurture

As I approached teenage hood

I felt the demands of adult life sink in

Responsibility, health, and hygiene

Education, money management, and car care

Were the ranking worries

But with a pat on the back

My mother knew just how to push me on

Now as an adult

The stress is endless

What I thought would be easy

Has become unpredictably difficult

But I look back to Mom

And remember she believes in me

Till the ends of time

Because what I become is what she created
