She's Flawless Anyway

There’s this girl I know

and her smile has always reminded me of a piano

black and white

showing where she’s hit the flats or its been too sharp in life

there are gaps, gaping wide like tiny abysses to fall in when they give her kisses,

someone trapped, someone finally ready to listen

and not just leave, like they always do

Her father’s lullabies were full of sweat and blood and tears and grunts, and groans

So at the age of 13, she started soothing all sensations to sleep with burning blunts

shunning any memories of home

Her song began to slip

off the curves of her swaying hips

Most girls her age hadn't even their feet wet,

but she’d been taking dips in her gene pool so long

she figures,

why not give life a mix

A twist to the monotony of those groans

See,

She found quickly that all men make a different sound

when hitting the ground

from jumping her bones

So she’s constructing a symphony

More beautiful than that sonata  from her mouth smiling back at her in the mirror

So She filled her grin with gin

And her eyes became whiskey stained glass windows into her soul

Searching for her savior and only finding snakes in the slacks of men

she’d take home

They’s slither into her body

deposit their demons and depart

So she’ll play her song instead of smiling

black and white

showing where she’s hit the flats or its been too sharp in life

See even with gaps

it still sings sweetly,

her smile has always reminded me of a piano

Missing teeth

black keys were white should be

showing where she’s hit the flats or its been too sharp in life
