The shipwrecked town--ship

The town..ship is a vessel that carries poverty and violence.
In silence it sinks heavily into the blood of the township settlers,
The black blood that was coloured by the melanin of the black bodies.
The black bodies that tried to flee,
While their blood was sucked by the sea.

In any hour,
The township is going to sink in the harbour.
And those who are greed,
will try to secure this vessel by an anchor
In the name of being freed.

In silence they anchored violence.
Crucifying him for he was dire.
Now his spirit engulfs our souls
And it is up to us to see to it that he resurrects in the chariot of fire
For in this ship the bible is a match box, and the holy spirit is the smoke of the burning tyre
No wonder township kids smell of fire

This ship is sinking
While the cargoes are fighting and drinking.
For the only safety restraints left in this ship are liqour and destruction

The shipwrecked town...ship
Sinking deeper and deeper Into the blood of the black bodies
the black bodies that tried to flee
While their blood was sucked by the monsters of the sea
