When I walk in late,

Don't criticize me.

There will come a time

When one day, it will be,

You and not me,

That will be late you see.

Because maybe your child

Was as sick as me.

 

When I pull out a snack,

Do not stare at me.

I may have missed breakfast,

Now that is the key.

If you had missed lunch,

or could not eat,

Would you like to be yelled at?

Or put on the seat?

 

When I use the restroom,

I don't want to ask,

If you had to poop

Would you want the whole class,

To know all your business,

Like nothing was wrong,

But what if I'm sick?

I don't want my friends,

To think "Ew she's so gross,

She was out 20 minutes! 

I wonder where she goes..?"

 

Don't give me homework

over the break.

Don't give me homework,

I'll turn it in late.

My break is for me,

It's meant to be chill.

Can you cut back on homework,

and not be a pill?

You act all surprised,

you tell me so,

"You had two weeks off,

and you should know,

your schooling comes first."

Well yeah, but it's break!

I will not write essays,

Maybe I'm loud,

Maybe I'm not.

Maybe I'm backward,

But just give me a shot.

I might be different, 

I might not be smart.

But don't put a label, 

On a willing heart.

I get up for school,

I get up for class.

It may not be cool,

But I won't be an ass.
