Short Skirts and Strong Boots

"Dress suitably in short skirts and strong boots, leave your jewels in the bank, and buy a revolver."

- Cointess Markievick

A fire burns in my chest I can not control or dampen

smoak pours from my mouth in hot tendrils

made of hatered and passion

My heart beats to the sound of

revolution

femenism

and iron toed boots

This is a call to arms, my children

my wallflowers and hard femme

my girls who are afraid and tired

angry and out for blood

spit in the faces of those who doubt you

hold the hand of those who understand

but most of all, my girls, remember

the blood on your hands

must always match your lipstick
