Silence

Shh!

Do you hear that?

The whisper in the wind as it blows over the ocean

Or how it screams with the storm.

Can you hear the cry of a child over the busy streets of Houston?

Do you hear the silence after the gunshot?

Or the quietness of the night as you sit by the edge of the cliff?

Actions speak louder than words.

Actions can be very silent yet can be louder than even an opera singer

They can also be softer than even a snowflake falling.

Everyone demands to be heard.

Even the silent ones yearn to be heard.

Not everyone knows the words to say.

Silence can be the only thing we know.

We yell from the streets of Houston to a person on a skyscraper in Japan

Expecting to be heard

Shhh!

Do you hear that?

The whispers and screams all around overpowering one another

All demanding to be heard

Do you hear the silence in the world full of noise?
